This magnificent Faberge egg is a true masterpiece from the St. Petersburg Collection, numbered #337; 750 of these "Four Seasons" eggs were made by Theo Faberge. The egg is made of exquisite crystal and is adorned with intrcate 22K gold paterning similar to that on the czarist period Faberge eggs and contains four enamel paintings with each one depicting a different season. The top of the piece features a sterling silver 22K gold Vermeil Crown with a genuine cabochon ruby adornment. The craftsmanship is outstanding, making this egg a highly sought-after collectible which bears the engraved signature of Theo Faberge on its bottom and dates to1985. Its historical and artistic value is immeasurable, and it would make a stunning addition to any collection of decorative items. Theo Fabergé (London, 26 September 1922 – 20 August 2007) was a grandson of Peter Carl Fabergé who is known famously as the jeweler to the Russian czars and maker of the renowned original Faberge eggs. His father Nicholas Fabergé, Carl's youngest son, arrived in London in 1906 to help run the only branch of the House of Fabergé outside Russia, on Dover Street in London. After 1917, Nicholas remained in London, and in 1922, his son Theo was born. I do NOT have the original box or paperwork. This auction is just for the egg. The previous owner did not save the original box or paperwork or could not find them. The egg is 4.5 inches high. Good luck bidding! (Condition: Pre-Owned)
